India records highest temperature in 122 years

India has had the hottest March this year out of 122 years. The Times of India quoted the country’s Meteorological Department as saying in a report on Saturday.

According to the report, the average maximum temperature in March 2022 was 1.6 degrees Celsius higher than the normal maximum temperature, according to the Meteorological Department. This month’s average minimum temperature was 1.36 degrees Celsius higher than normal.

Earlier in January, Meteorological Office sources said that 2021 was the fifth warmest year in India in the 120-year history from 1901. Looking at the nature of the weather in March, meteorologists predict that India may set a new warming record in 2022.

But not just warming, India has received alarmingly low rainfall earlier this year.
According to the Meteorological Office, India’s rainfall deficit in March was about 61 percent. There has been a record of less than twice the rainfall in 114 years.
The average rainfall in the country is 30.4 mm in March. But this time in March, India received only 8.9 mm of rain. Earlier, in March 1908, India received 8.6 mm of rainfall. The rainfall in March 1909 was 7.2 mm.
