Pakistan lost on Babar’s record night

A win would have sealed the series for Pakistan. Babar Azam’s 59-ball unbeaten 87 in an extraordinary innings gave England a challenging target. Babar’s team won by less runs than this in the previous two matches.

However, Pakistan’s score of 169 runs for 6 wickets in a devastating innings by Phil Salt in Lahore was ‘too short’! Salt gave England an 8-wicket victory by playing an unbeaten innings of 88 runs off 41 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes.

Salt started England’s innings with four hits in the run chase. The English made 11 runs in the first over. In the second over, the two English openers took the form of Rudramurthy. Shahnewaz Dahani scored 22 runs in this over.
