You have to give health information online three days before coming to the country

Anyone coming to Bangladesh from abroad has to fill up a handwritten Health Declaration Form (HDF) before immigration at airports and land ports. There are also many examples of spending a lot of time in immigration to fill out this form.

However, this time the rule is no more. In order to reduce the suffering of the passengers in immigration, the Department of Health has made arrangements to fill the health information online three days before coming to the country from now on.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the Department of Health has already written to the country’s airport and land port authorities to introduce the new rules. The port authorities will issue an order in this regard soon.

 

On Thursday, April 8, the Department of Health sent a letter to Bebichak to implement the procedure for filling up the online health declaration form. According to the letter, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) International Rules-2005, travelers visiting the country during the Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) are required to fill out an HDF.

The letter, signed by Nazmul Islam, further states that the Management Information Systems (MIS) branch of the Department of Health has created an online HDF to address the problem. Go to the website of the department (healthdeclaration.dghs.gov.bd) and fill up the HDF form.

Four proposals have been mentioned in the letter of the Department of Health, including filling and submitting HDF three days before entering the country. The other three are that airlines operators will confirm before boarding whether passengers have HDF with QR code, passengers will show the health declaration card (soft or print copy) with QR code at immigration and if any passenger has coronary symptoms, contact immigration for health check before immigration.

In this regard, the newly appointed Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Group Captain Mohammad Kamrul Islam said, ‘We are working on the issue. The final decision will be announced soon.
