Von Miller trying to recruit top free agent receiver to the Bills

The newest superstar added to the Bills roster in free agency, Von Miller, made a recruiting effort to reunite with SBLVI teammate, Odell Beckham Jr.

En route to their first Super Bowl title in over 20 years, the Los Angeles Rams acquired two contributors last year who greatly influenced their title run. Odell Beckham Jr. was scooped up by the Rams shortly after the Browns elected to release him and Von Miller came to town via a trade with Denver — a deal that cost L.A. their second and third-round selections in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Following the Super Bowl in which OBJ suffered a torn ACL in his left knee for the second time in as many years, the star receiver emerged as one of the most intriguing free agent options for contenders across the league. He is not expected to return to the field until sometime in December, however, and will be a limited contributor wherever it is that he lands.

Von Miller, the aforementioned second late-season add for the Rams in 2021 was signed by the Buffalo Bills in free agency to the tune of a behemoth six-year, $120 million deal ($51.4M guaranteed). This afternoon, Miller took to Instagram with a recruiting effort to bring OBJ to the Bills as well.

Whether or not the Bills are in a position to pay for Beckham’s services or not is the primary question at hand. They just made a big-time guarantee to Von Miller, quarterback Josh Allen is newly among the highest paid at his position, and a pretty penny ($24M AAV) is due to the star wideout that’s already in town, Stefon Diggs, through 2028.

With a wide receiver room comprised of Diggs, Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder, there is plenty of room for the star power that Odell Beckham Jr. would bring, it’s just a matter of whether or not the front office can squeeze in the cost.

With the Bills having fallen just short of a return to the Super Bowl in each of the last two seasons, introducing a tag team of recent champions to the locker room could be just what they need in order to finish the job.
