BEIJING — A decisive 4-1 win over Finland on Monday in Beijing cinched the U.S.’ place within the ladies’s ice hockey finals later this week. The U.S. workforce will go up in opposition to its longtime rival, Canada, within the gold medal sport.
Monday’s match was hard-fought, with Finland pushing again exhausting in opposition to the U.S.
However now with Finland out of the way in which, the U.S. gamers are already setting their sights on taking over their North American neighbors.

Because the ladies’s sport was launched on the Olympics in 1998, the U.S. and Canada are the one groups to have gained gold. They’ve met in each remaining, besides 2006, with Canada holding a 3-2 edge.
Heading into the match-up that may begin at 11:10p.m. Thursday ET, the U.S. is the defending champion, having crushed Canada within the gold medal sport on the 2018 Pyeongchang Video games.
The game “will get the perfect and the worst out of each of us on the identical time,” Hilary Knight, a ahead for the U.S., informed reporters on Monday night. “It is a great sport.”
