In order to improve the quality of education and create skilled human resources, the university authorities have reduced the number of seats from 2021-22 academic year considering the capacity and capability of Dhaka University and national and international needs.
According to university sources, in the 2021-22 academic year, a total of 6035 students of A, B, C, D and F units will get admission in the 1st year undergraduate (honors) class of Dhaka University. In the previous years, the students got the opportunity to get admission in 6,146 seats. This time 1113 seats have been reduced.
In the 2021-22 academic year, out of 6035 seats – 1651 in ‘A’ unit, 16 in ‘B’ unit, 930 in ‘C’ unit, 1336 in ‘D’ unit and 130 in ‘F’ unit, students will get the opportunity to get admission in 6035 seats.
In the light of the admission qualification given by the university and the result of HSC 2021, this time 2 lakh 11 thousand 60 people in A-unit, 3 lakh 46 thousand 613 people in B-unit, 1 lakh 94 thousand 620 people in C-unit, 5 lakh 6 thousand 526 people in D-unit. 10 lakh 7 thousand 141 people will get the opportunity to apply in John and C-Unit.

Meanwhile, on April 20, the Vice-Chancellor officially inaugurated the admission process. Md. Akhtaruzzaman. Candidates will be able to submit admission test application and fee online till May 10. Admitted students will be able to pay fees through online debit / credit card, mobile banking or internet banking and 4 state-owned banks – Sonali, Agrani, Janata and Rupali Banks. Admission test tickets can be downloaded from 16th May till 1 hour before the start of the test.
According to the admission test schedule, the admission test of C unit of the Faculty of Business Studies will be held on Friday, June 3, the admission test of B unit will be held on Saturday, June 4, the admission test of A unit will be held on Friday, June 11 Admission test (general knowledge) of C-unit of Fine Arts Faculty will be held on Friday 18th June.
Examinations for A, B, C and D units will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Unit F admission test (general knowledge) will be held from 11 a.m.
