Moscow’s Tegansky district court has said it has distributed “untrue information” about the defeat of Russian troops and civilian casualties in Ukraine. The BBC quoted the news agency Taser as saying.
One of the two alleged videos shows family members talking to Russian soldiers.
Several foreign social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, are blocked in Russia. However, YouTube is still open there.
Russian Communications Watchdog has previously said it would take action to punish Google for spreading lies on YouTube. Russia has warned the company in the United States that it will pay a fine if it does not comply.
Earlier, Google was fined in Russia. In 2012, the company was fined 7.2 billion rubles (90 million). The crime was to fail to remove content that was illegal in Russia.
