Nick Cannon Is a Father of 12: Learn About His Kids and Large Family

Actor Nick Cannon is the father of 12 kids, whom he shares with six different women including Mariah Carey, Brittany Bell, Abby de la Rosa, and Alyssa Scott, Bre Tiesi and LaNisha Cole. He welcomed baby No. 10 with ex-girlfriend Brittany on September 23, which is their third child together, followed by baby No. 11 with Abby on November 11 and baby No. 12 with Alyssa on December 14.

The Nick Cannon Show host’s eldest twins, Monroe and Moroccan Scott, were born in 2011. He shares them with his ex-wife Mariah, whom he was married to from 2008 to 2016. He then welcomed Golden “Sagon” Cannon with Brittany in 2017 followed by daughter Powerful Queen Cannon in 2020.

The following year, Nick’s partner Abby gave birth to twins Zion and Zillion. In addition, Alyssa also welcomed son Zen with Nick in 2021. The Masked Singer star announced in December 2021 that the 5-month-old died after suffering from a brain tumor.

The Wild ’N Out star revealed the tragic news during the December 2021 episode of his talk show. He said when Zen was about 2 months old, he began to develop what they thought was a sinus issue and his head also appeared large. Doctors found a tumor in his brain after initially thinking there was fluid building up, and the newborn was required to have immediate surgery.

Nick said Zen’s condition worsened around Thanksgiving when the tumor began to grow very quickly. The Drumline star spent the previous weekend in California, where he held his son for the last time during a trip to the ocean.

The TV host stunned fans when he revealed on January 31, 2022, that he was expecting another child — a baby boy —  with Bre. “This was always in the back of my mind, like, ‘What is the right time? How do I share this?’” he explained on The Nick Cannon Show. “I wanted to definitely respect the grieving process with Alyssa, and Bre was respectful enough — she held off making our announcements and speaking on social media.”

After Nick’s announcement, Bre shared an Instagram video of her prominent baby bump in a tight white dress while at the pair’s beachside gender reveal party. “Been keeping you safe in my belly from this world as long as I could … you are surrounded by so much love. Mommy and daddy can’t wait to meet you,” Bre gushed in the video’s caption. The pair welcomed their son, Legendary Love Cannon, on July 25, 2022.

Abby shared on June 3 that she and Nick had baby No. 3 on the way. She joked in a July Instagram Live session that she was looking “to find the best Z name I can find” to match their other 2 children while announcing her due date was October 25. Abby gave birth to daughter Beautiful Zeppelin on November 11.

Nick then revealed he and Brittany had another baby, a son, on the way in an Instagram video on August 24, 2022, featuring a glamorous photo shoot of Brittany and her very large bump. “Time stopped and this happened,” the radio host wrote in the caption, along with the hint that they may be having a boy with the hashtag “SonRISE.” The baby was named Rise Messiah Cannon after Brittany gave birth following a “painful” 48-hour labor.

If that wasn’t enough baby news, Nick surprisingly announced the birth of baby No. 9, his first child with LaNisha, on September 15.

“Introducing ONYX ICE COLE CANNON,” he gushed over his newborn daughter. “Once again, today, I am in awe of the Devine Feminine! God has given me and @MissLanishaCole the privilege of hosting an angel here on earth. I vow to protect, provide, guide and love this child to the best of my abilities.”

The Love Don’t Cost a Thing actor has previously been questioned by fans for his lifestyle choices, especially after welcoming four babies within the same year. He opened up about “why” he has “so many kids” during an appearance on The Breakfast Club.

“The idea that a man should have one woman … we shouldn’t have anything. I have no ownership over this person,” Nick said, adding that “every woman” he’s been with knows how he “feels.”

“It’s about what exchange we can create together. So, I’ve never really subscribed to that mentality,” the All That alum continued. “I don’t want ownership over anybody. I don’t have ownership over any of the mothers. We created a beautiful entity.”

The San Diego native noted that having children isn’t his “decision” and he has been “following suit.”

“Those women, all women, are the ones that open themselves up and say ‘I would like to allow this man in my world. And I will birth this child,’” Nick explained.
