Today’s slate of NFL rumors concerns Aaron Rodgers’ trade stalemate and updates on DeAndre Hopkins’ and Odell Beckham Jr.’s situations.

It’s Day 4 of waiting for Aaron Rodgers to get traded to the New York Jets. We’d imagine this is a lot like how Rodgers felt during his isolation retreat: a lot of sitting around in the dark.

Last Wednesday, Rodgers told Pat McAfee that his intention was to play for the Jets in 2023, and everybody has been holding their breath as the Packers and Jets continue to hammer out a deal.

Other news in the NFL surrounds two talented and readily available wideouts looking for their forever home. Brandin Cooks just joined the Dallas Cowboys, getting traded for the umpteenth time, and his move will have a ripple effect on DeAndre Hopkins and Odell Beckham Jr. in particular this offseason.

Speaking of OBJ — are the Giants really out on him? The latest gossip seems to suggest otherwise.

Let’s take a look at three of the biggest NFL rumors going around the league right now.

NFL Rumors: Odell Beckham Jr. re-opens door to Giants reunion

Just a few days ago, the New York Giants reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Odell Beckham Jr., citing that the wideout was out of the team’s price range.

At $20 million a year, OBJ won’t come cheap, and the Giants still have their own cap issues to work out. Yet the Giants were considered a favorite to land OBJ given their shared history, and Beckham’s recent social media interaction may debunk rumors that the Giants no longer want him.

Last Thursday, Beckham commented on Giants RB Saquon Barkley’s tweet and told Barkley to “tell Joe to call my agent,” referring to New York general manager Joe Schoen.

Beckham has appeared eager to sign with a team ever since late last regular season, but at the time, his health status was a major concern. Now fully recovered from his ACL tear, Beckham may be asking for more than teams are willing to offer.

He is, after all, an aging wideout with availability issues, and not many teams can afford to shell out $20 million a year on a player who has a high chance of re-injury in the future.

Beckham clearly still has a strong relationship with Barkley, and the league wouldn’t be surprised to see him reunited with his first NFL team. The ball’s in Joe Schoen’s court, apparently.
