NFL Rumors: Bears asking price for No.1 pick revealed

Recent information details just how large the price is to attain the No.1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft from the Chicago Bears.

As the NFL Combine goes on, the Chicago Bears are not only watching prospects with great attention but also their phones.

The owners of the No.1 overall pick, the Windy City offices, made it abundantly clear that they are open for business as they desire to trade down from the top spot to recoup picks to rebuild their roster.

The asking price is the big story. Robert Mays of The Athletic revealed during an appearance on the “Hoge and Jahns Podcast” that a source told him about what the potential package could be for a team outside of the Top 10 looking to go up to No. 1.

“The price that I heard from outside the top five is your one this year, a two this year, a first in 2024, and a first in 2025,” said Mays.

Holy smokes. That would be a massive haul, and that’s not including if the Bears trade down even after that to get more picks in 2024 and 2025. If that package is true, the Bears need to pounce on it.

The Chicago Bears must do whatever it takes to compile draft picks to rebuild their team.

Sonny Weaver Jr (Kevin Costner) once told Tom Michaels (Patrick St. Esprit), “We live in a different world than we did just 30 seconds ago.” That’s a fact. One day, the offer could be perfect, but the next day that offer is off the table, and the negotiations must begin again. When the opportunity is there, grab it.

That applies to Chicago. They are tired of hearing jokes and ridicule by outlets and fans about passing on Patrick Mahomes. They are tired of Green Bay beating them. The best thing to do is to build a team that can beat those teams and everyone else and force those who make fun of them to shut their mouths.

Chicago has a chance to make something out of nothing. They got this pick for a reason and by some divine intervention from Houston. All it takes is making the right move and landing the right players to build a winner that can finally break the losing trends in the Windy City. Hopefully, they get the right offer in the process.
