The Navy has introduced that it is going to be naming a ship after the late Supreme Courtroom Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

On Thursday, which marked the ultimate day of Girls’s Historical past Month, the Navy introduced it will identify a replenishment oiler ship the USNS Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The ship is a part of the John Lewis-class of replenishment oilers, that are named in honor of people that fought for civil and human rights, in accordance with the Navy.

Different ships included within the class are named after outstanding civil rights activists and leaders, comparable to former U.S. Lawyer Basic Robert F. Kennedy, two different former members of the Supreme Courtroom, Earl Warren and Thurgood Marshall, and abolitionist Sojourner Fact.

The primary ship within the class, named after the late congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis, was delivered in 2021.
