Lions safety DeShon Elliott called out Aaron Rodgers and the Packers for not respecting Detroit: “The way he carries himself, I don’t like none of that.”

There’s bad blood between the Lions and the Packers as they prepare to battle it out with a playoff berth potentially on the line.

DeShon Elliott only threw fuel on the flames with comments about Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

To say Elliott doesn’t like Rodgers would be an understatement.

“They don’t respect us. A-Rod doesn’t respect us. That team doesn’t respect us,” Elliott told reporters. “We’re used to being an underdog. No matter what the record says we’re going to go out there, I think we’re going to fight our ass off, play smash mouth football, just ’cause the respect factor.”

Elliott targeted Rodgers specifically for criticism.

“Yeah, he’s a Hall of Famer but I just don’t like the way he’s been talking about my guys all year and the way that team views us. So we’re gonna go out there and prove something,” Elliott said.

When asked to clarify if he was specifically reacting to Rodgers’ dismissive comments after the Lions beat the Packers earlier this season, Elliott made it clear it was broader than that.

“Sure, whatever, just period. The way he carries himself, I don’t like none of that s—,” he said.

Detroit beat Green Bay, 15-9, in November. After the game, Rodgers said, “Can’t lose a game like that against that team.”

The Lions had gone into the game 1-6. They used that win to propel them into playoff contention with seven wins in nine games. The Packers also responded to the loss, winning five of their next seven to revive their postseason hopes.

Only one side can come out of their game on Sunday with the final NFC Wild Card spot, if the rest of the NFC gives them a chance.
