President Biden has nominated Adm. Linda Fagan to function the subsequent commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, the administration introduced Tuesday.
If confirmed, Fagan could be the primary lady ever to steer a department of the U.S. army, lawmakers mentioned.
“Admiral Fagan’s nomination will encourage generations of American girls to try to serve on the highest degree within the Armed Forces,” mentioned Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., chair of the Senate Commerce Committee.
