Biden will travel to South Korea and Japan next month

US President Joe Biden will visit South Korea and Japan next month. The White House made the announcement on Wednesday, local time. Washington is touring two Asian allies amid tensions with rival China and North Korea. News AFP.

White House Press Secretary Jane Sackie said in a statement that Biden would visit from May 20 to 24. Biden is visiting the Indo-Pacific region to strengthen US agreements with Korea and Japan.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

In Tokyo, Biden will meet with team leaders. He will also meet leaders from Australia, Japan and India. Biden wants to form an alliance with the leaders of these countries against China.

The Biden administration has repeatedly identified the rise of the Asia-Pacific region, especially Communist China, as a strategic issue for the United States.

White House press secretary Saki also said Biden would discuss security, the economy and bilateral issues in bilateral talks with newly elected South Korean President Eun-suok Eol and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.

Biden will make the visit following a special meeting of US-ASEAN leaders in Washington on May 12-13.
