Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has emerged from his darkness retreat in Oregon to a very different NFL landscape.

Aaron Rodgers spent the majority of the last week at a darkness retreat in Oregon, with the goal of having a “better sense of where I’m at in my life,” per the man himself. While Rodgers did not head to the darkness retreat just to figure out if he’ll play football again, one would think that crossed his mind at some point during the four-day stretch.

Per the owner of the facility in Oregon, Rodgers emerged from the darkness on Wednesday and left to go home. The retreat is “a 300-square-foot room in which Rodgers spent his time is a partially underground structure devoid of light, with a queen bed, a bathroom and a meditation-like mat. It is fully powered, and the lights can be turned on from inside the room,” per ESPN.

If Aaron Rodgers does want to play football again, there’s a good chance it could be in Green Bay after all. Despite trade rumors connecting No. 12 to the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, one source told NFL Insider Tom Pelissero that the Packers want Rodgers back.

Rodgers decision will have a domino effect across the NFL landscape. If he does stay in Green Bay after all, the Jets could move on and sign Derek Carr instead. The Raiders, now needing a quarterback of their own, could reunite Jimmy Garoppolo with his former Patriots OC Josh McDaniels. Garoppolo would then battle with Jarrett Stidham for the starting job in training camp.

Packers president Mark Murphy said there was no set deadline for Rodgers to decide upon his football future, but by the NFL Draft seems like a safe bet.
