A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident at Demra in the capital. The motorcyclist was injured at the time. The accident took place around 10 pm on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Swapan, 28. Swapan lived in a mess in South Badda. His home is in Brahmanbaria.

The incident was confirmed by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Outpost Abdul Khan. He said the motorcycle collided with the bus in front of Demra Staff Quarters at night. At that time, a person named Swapan fell on the road and was hit by a speeding lorry. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition. The on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 11:30 pm. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station. Details of the deceased will be known when the relatives arrive.
Sabuj, a friend of the deceased Swapan, was riding the motorcycle at that time. He said they were going from Matuail to Demra Staff Quarters to South Badda’s house. The bus collided head-on with the motorcycle in the Staff Quarters area on the way. At that time, two people fell on both sides of the road. On the side where Swapan fell, a lorry crushed him.
Sabuj has been kept at the police outpost for questioning. The body has been kept in the morgue of the hospital for autopsy.
